Getting There is Half the Fun

We have some close family friends with whom we get together on a weekly basis. We eat dinner together, catch up, play games and watch movies together. However, recently we’ve fallen into a rut.

“What do you want to do?”

“I dunno. What do you want to do?”

Sound familiar? And then when we decide to see what’s on Netflix, that becomes our entertainment—yes, literally SEEING what’s on Netflix.

We sit for what seems like hours scrolling through the available videos. It’s become a joke. My husband takes the remote control, and the rest of us speed read the descriptions before he jumps to the next title. And to add that extra challenge, the “rule” is that we can’t jump ahead to another title. We have to only consider the highlighted one.

The other night we found that when we actually made a decision—“I know! Let’s start with Season One of The Big Bang Theory!”—it wasn’t available on streaming video.

Is this a situation with anyone else, or are our lives just that monotonous?

This isn’t something I’m excited to admit. I’m curious to discover if others have found this new pastime as well.

Let me know if this is a trend!

That’s a wrap for this Toast to Cinema. Thanks for reading, and Happy Hunting!
