My Thank You Note

This is my favorite time of year, and perhaps the busiest. Maybe that’s why I love it. There is always an activity planned, a gift to buy, or friends to visit.

I am richly blessed, and incredibly grateful for everyone who keeps me going. I have a beautiful family, a pretty fun day job, the best friends anyone could want, a terrific church family, a talented writing network, and on and on….

thank you

I simply want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to my readers, too. I may not have the opportunity to meet you all face to face, but your support means the world to me. Without you, I could never enjoy my dream job.

Besides writing this blog, I have one children’s book published, four more coming soon, a Historical Christian novel in the last stages of editing, and a suspense trilogy in progress. As soon as I have them available, you all will be the first to know!

NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF!

As my way to thank you, I would like to give away a  few books. To be eligible, just leave a comment for me ON THIS POST, telling me the name of your favorite holiday or seasonal movie. (These can be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or anything, really—if you can give me a good explanation.) This will serve two purposes. I will draw names from the comments on this post over the next three months, and send the winners a free copy of my book, POCKETS. Also, the  holiday movie mentioned most will be the subject of one  or more of my holiday blogs!

***Official Rules for Eligibility: 1- You must be a resident of the United States, with a valid mailing address. 2- You must leave a comment on THIS blog post. 3- Your comment must include the title of a holiday/ seasonal movie that carries a G, PG, or PG-13 rating, or equivalent if a classic. (No R, X, or NC-17, please.) 4- Comments may not include profanity, spam, or anything that I deem inappropriate for my site. Only approved comments will be eligible for the drawing. 5- Members of my own family are not eligible. 6- Once your name is drawn, any additional comments made by the same person will be ineligible for this contest. One winner per household, per contest.

I will draw the first name on October 6 or when I have 10 comments, whichever comes first. I will draw 2 more names on October 20, from all remaining comments. If your name is drawn, I will contact you by responding to your comment. It will be your responsibility to contact me by email and provide a valid mailing address. I will ship the book within 5 business days of the drawing. This offer expires on October 20, 2013 at 10 PM, Central time.

Winners will receive 1 (one) free copy of POCKETS, by Kimberly Black. No substitutions of prizes of any kind. The book will be autographed by both myself and the illustrator, Sean Black. I will include a personalized message at winners’ request.

Please feel free to share this little contest with friends and family, on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or wherever you like! Remember, the first ten comments have the best chance to win!

That’s a wrap for this Toast to Cinema, Thanks for reading!

  1. My favorite Christmas movie is “A Christmas Story”. I vowed then and there never to buy my kids a BB gun. We watch it every Christmas!

  2. My all time favorite Christmas movie is It’s a Wonderful Life!! I love the holiday season! Looking forward to your new books!

  3. Tim Allen’s “The Santa Clause – this movie means a lot to me as it shows how adults have lost the true meaning of Santa Claus. It takes children to remind them that if they look deep inside the magic is there – you just have to let it out. We have had several instances in our life when Santa has shown his face in so many different ways. Mike and Rena Claus, Marge and Jim Moore Claus, and of course the sub sailors on Steve’s ship Clauses. There were three years my children would not have had a Christmas was it not for these Santas. Yes Virginia – I STILL BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS!

  4. Practical Magic…it’s a movie based on the bond of sisterly love. My sister and I saw the movie and said, “That’s us!” Every time it’s on tv we call one another and ask the other to tune in. I love my sis and would love to win your precious book for her son. <3
