I have a confession to make. I’m not an extremely patient person. Oh, for some things I can bide my time, but for things that really get me excited—not so much.
So when I hear about sequels that are in pre-production, such as The Lost Skeleton Walks Among Us, I get anxious for release. You see, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra and The Lost Skeleton Returns Again are some of my favorite satirical films. They pay brilliant homage to the B-Movies of the 1950’s. Writer/ director/ actor, Larry Blamire, has this third installment of his franchise just about ready for the Kickstarter campaign launch, and I can hardly wait.
He’s tweeted sneak-peeks of his script to his fans, and these little glimpses inspire me to do the happy dance! It also inspires me to get to work on my own stories.
It’s a common saying—Write the story you want to read. With that in mind, I have been working on a few writing projects.
I have a new children’s book out, called Pockets. It’s beautifully illustrated by my son, Sean Black.
I’m also working on a Historical Christian novel set in first-century Europe. This one is challenging me with lots of research. I love it, but I need to get it done!
When I think about my characters and the stories I’m writing, though, they are already real to me. I know them, and I’m anxious for you to meet them, too! I just need to hurry up and write!
That’s a wrap for this Toast to Cinema. Thanks for reading!
