Let me begin by saying that I have a really great job. In fact, all of my jobs are pretty wonderful. Besides being a wife and mom, I am a full-time residential designer and an author. I’ve been designing homes since 1987, and I’ve been writing (in one capacity or another) since I was in Junior High. I love what I do. Yes, sometimes it’s completely chaotic, but that’s what creativity is all about. I thrive in that crazy place. I can’t imagine a time when I won’t be doing either of these things, at least to a certain extent.

The only thing that would make these jobs even better is travel. My dream job would definitely incorporate travel, and I would love to do more public speaking. I am an introvert, and chatting with people in a groups of three to six people makes me nervous and shaky. I flush with a fever.

But speaking to groups of 30 to 300 is invigorating to me. Weird, I know. I can’t explain it. My dream job would be to travel all over the world with a little inspirational comedy. I could do a little research for stories and building design, too. Wouldn’t want to miss out on anything.
